Over the busy festive period, NMT Crane Hire was called into the heart of Manchester to execute a highly specific and technical lift.
In one of the city’s most prestigious business districts, our team from the Birmingham depot proved why we are trusted for delicate and challenging lifting operations.
For this project, the BOCKER AK46/6000 crane was ideal choice, offering the versatility and precision required to handle the unique demands of the job.
Our mission was to lift out existing glass panels from a high-rise office building and replace them with sleek new glazing.
Operating in a bustling city centre during the festive season added an extra layer of complexity to the job, which was handled expertly by our supervisor and site team.
We took proactive steps to manage safety on-site, including working with the client and local authority to close down a busy side street and ensuring pedestrians were safely guided away from our works.
With clear signage, barriers, and of course NMT in place, we worked efficiently to maintain the highest safety standards while minimising disruption to the public.
Our works, which happened over a three day period last week, did provide some spectators, however our team navigated the challenges of a city centre environment perfectly.
The BOCKER AK46/6000, with its advanced capabilities, enabled us to complete the lifts with accuracy, ensuring the pristine installation of the new glass panels.
Terry Clarke, NMT Crane Hire Manager in the Midlands who was the appointed person on the job, said: “This project highlights why NMT Crane Hire is the go-to choice for challenging lifts in busy city centres like this. With a skilled team, a modern fleet of cranes, and a commitment to safety, we specialise in delivering precision and efficiency for projects of all sizes. Full credit to our team, which included Martin Tongue, for delivering a great result for our client.”
